The Rambler is a 450 sq ft basement apartment tucked into a renovated older home near downtown Sheridan. Private entrance, thoughtfully updated throughout — new kitchen, remodeled bathroom, plush king bed. The kind of space that's easy to settle into.
Being below ground level means the apartment stays naturally cool year-round, holding steady in the low-to-mid 70s without AC. Whitney Commons is nearby, and Main Street’s coffee shops, restaurants and galleries are about a five-minute walk away.
The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for a proper meal. The bathroom is freshly remodeled. The king bed has fresh linens. A noise machine and earplugs are provided by the bed if you prefer the quiet — though at this price point and location, most guests have bigger plans than sleeping in.
Street parking is available; a reserved off-street space is not included. The home is near Whitney Commons and a few doors from The Hub on Smith, with Main Street about a five-minute walk away. Walking maps are provided in the home.

Six steps lead down into this basement home, which sleeps two in one king bedroom and has one bathroom. There is no sofa bed. The Troubadour is a separate home in the same structure, and the yard is shared. Some foot traffic from above and occasional road noise toward the nearby YMCA are possible; a noise machine is provided. Radiant heat pipes may make occasional sounds during temperature changes. Up to two dogs are welcome with a $75 pet fee per stay.
Main Street is about a five-minute walk away, so it is easy to head out for coffee or dinner and come back to a space of your own.
The apartment is below ground, which sounds like a compromise until you're here in July and it's 92 degrees outside and 73 in your room. The newer-built places with the rooftop decks and the exposed ductwork are running their window units all night. You're reading a book.
Whitney Commons is nearby, with paths, open space and a seasonal splash pad. Java Moon is our suggestion for a quick coffee or pastry, and our family’s Real Deals shop is part of what brought us to this property.
The kitchen is genuinely usable. The bed is a king. The bathroom was just redone. There's no version of this at this price anywhere near downtown — and the people who figure that out tend to come back.
Great little spot — exactly what we needed. Clean, comfortable, easy to find. The king bed was fantastic and we loved being able to walk everywhere. Our dog had a blast in the backyard and at the park next door. Tyler was responsive and helpful throughout. We'd definitely stay again.
Perfect base for exploring the area. The location is unbeatable for the price — walked to breakfast, walked to dinner, walked to a brewery after. The apartment is small but well laid out and very clean. Slept great. Would absolutely book again.
