The Rambler is a 450 sq ft basement apartment tucked into a renovated older home just steps from Sheridan's downtown. Private entrance, thoughtfully updated throughout — new kitchen, remodeled bathroom, plush king bed. The kind of space that's easy to settle into.
Being below ground level means the apartment stays naturally cool year-round, holding steady in the low-to-mid 70s without AC. Whitney Commons Park is next door, and the full stretch of Main Street — coffee, restaurants, breweries, galleries — is a one-block walk.
The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for a proper meal. The bathroom is freshly remodeled. The king bed has fresh linens. A noise machine and earplugs are provided by the bed if you prefer the quiet — though at this price point and location, most guests have bigger plans than sleeping in.
Getting Around
Street parking is usually plentiful, with spots directly in front of the house opening up most evenings. Whitney Commons and Kendrick Park are both within walking distance, as are the trailheads that thread through the surrounding landscape. Walking maps are provided in the home.
Your Hosts
Check-in is contactless via August smart lock — you'll receive your unique code before arrival with everything you need. We maintain the property ourselves, so you may see us in the yard, but your space is completely private. Reach us by phone or text anytime throughout your stay.
Good to Know
Basement unit — naturally cool year-round, no AC needed. Some light foot traffic from above is possible; a noise machine is provided. As with many older homes, radiant heat pipes may make occasional cracking sounds during temperature changes — entirely normal. Up to 2 pets welcome with a $30 pet cleaning fee; the shared backyard and Whitney Commons next door make this one of the better pet-friendly stays in town.
One block from Main Street is not the same as being on Main Street. You can walk to everything in three minutes and still feel like you've left it behind when you come home.
The apartment is below ground, which sounds like a compromise until you're here in July and it's 92 degrees outside and 73 in your room. The newer-built places with the rooftop decks and the exposed ductwork are running their window units all night. You're reading a book.
Whitney Commons is literally next door — the park where Sheridan actually happens. Farmers market on Saturdays. The splash pad in summer. A food truck or a fundraiser or just families on blankets. Walk through it toward Kendrick Park, follow the path past the library, and eventually you'll hit the trailhead that climbs up into the foothills. The kind of afternoon that doesn't require any planning.
The kitchen is genuinely usable. The bed is a king. The bathroom was just redone. There's no version of this at this price anywhere near downtown — and the people who figure that out tend to come back.

Great little spot — exactly what we needed. Clean, comfortable, easy to find. The king bed was fantastic and we loved being able to walk everywhere. Our dog had a blast in the backyard and at the park next door. Tyler was responsive and helpful throughout. We'd definitely stay again.

Perfect base for exploring the area. The location is unbeatable for the price — walked to breakfast, walked to dinner, walked to a brewery after. The apartment is small but well laid out and very clean. Slept great. Would absolutely book again.
